USTP, CHED, BRITISH COUNCIL TO HOST FGD ON TRANSNATIONAL EDUCATION IN PH

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP), in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the British Council, will host a Focus Group Discussion on Emerging Priorities for Transnational Education in the Philippines on June 18, 2019 at the Performing Arts Theater of USTP Cagayan de Oro.
In August 2016, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the British Council launched the Joint Development of Niche Programmes through the UK-PH Linkages or JDNP, which led to the development of the Transnational Education (TNE) programs. Among the programmes is the development of TNE graduate degrees offered by Philippine HEIs in partnership with select UK HEIs that better respond to the changes of the higher education priorities and landscape.
The FGD aims to identify priority areas or disciplines in TNE development based on the needs of Philippine HEIs and aligning it to the Philippines’ economic agenda. It will also seek recommendations from the HEIs regarding potential TNE partnerships that will work according to their institution’s context.
Vice Presidents for Academic Affairs, Vice Presidents/Deans for Research, and/or Heads of the International Affairs of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Region 10 are invited to join the FGD per CHED Memorandum dated May 27, 2019.
Confirmation of attendance for the FGD may be sent through the secretariat at [email protected] or through Ms. Maria Beatrice Passe at [email protected].
