The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Balubal (USTP Balubal) was buzzing with excitement and color as it hosted the much-anticipated Barog Trailblazers 2025—a week-long celebration that ran from April 7 to 11, 2025, at the Brgy. Balubal Covered Court, Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental. It was a vibrant showcase of passion, talent, and unity that brought together students, faculty, and staff in an unforgettable fusion of sports, intellect, creativity, and community spirit.

The festivities began with a Praise Jam, filled with inspiring songs and messages, emphasizing that this year’s Barog Trailblazers was not just a competition, but a celebration of gratitude, purpose, and community.
For the main event, the physical sports began with volleyball, badminton, and basketball. Students were also given the chance to showcase their creativity, critical thinking, and communication through intellectual competitions in chess, Scrabble, essay writing, quiz bees, and storytelling. One of the most anticipated parts of the event was the Mr. and Ms. Balubal 2025 pageant, which provided contestants an opportunity to express their advocacies and demonstrate their confidence and wit.

In an exciting announcement, the Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED) and Agricultural Department were declared the overall winners of Barog Trailblazers 2025.

Barog Trailblazers 2025 would not have been possible without the strong collaboration between the Federation of Student Government (FSG) and the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) at USTP Balubal, headed by Mr. Mark Anthony Bactong. Through the dedication, coordination, and hands-on leadership by FSG and OSA, each event unfolded smoothly. Their hard work behind the scenes truly brought the celebration to life.
One of the key highlights of the event was the Campus Bazaar, where student-run stalls offered food, crafts, games, and merchandise. This initiative not only promoted student entrepreneurship but also fostered meaningful connections and collaboration within the university community.
Fueled by teamwork, passion, and a whole lot of heart, Barog Trailblazers 2025 turned out to be more than just a week of celebration—it was a powerful reflection of what the USTP Balubal community can achieve together. At USTP Balubal, students don’t just participate—they rise, lead, and leave their mark with pride.
