QS Stars

The USTP System is recently awarded the 3 STAR RATING in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) STARS UNIVERSITY Rating System, an opt-in university rating system that helps prospective students get an in-depth picture of the strengths of different universities—from research and employment outcomes to social responsibility and inclusiveness.

The University is the first grantee under the 2nd Batch of the Fostering for World Class Philippine Universities Project.

Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ranking

The USTP System secured its spot under several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ranking categories in the 2023 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings released on June 1, 2023.

In the fifth edition of the THE Impact Rankings this year, the USTP System took the 1001+ spot among 1,591 universities from 112 participating countries/regions around the globe.

In 2022, the university placed in the 1001+ rank under SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. This year, the USTP System ranked higher under the same SDG category, taking the 801-1000 spot in the ranking system.

The University also ranked 601-800 under SDG 5: Gender Equality, 801+ under SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and 1001+ under SDG 4: Quality Education, resulting in an overall Impact Ranking of 1001+.

The USTP is also recognized as a Reporter for the World University Rankings in 2023.

Webometrics

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) continues to take its place in international rankings.

Just recently, the university rose 79 spots in the Global Ranking for the January 2023 edition of the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities. The university ranked 5,933rd in the July 2022 edition. Now, the USTP has landed on the 5,854th spot!

The USTP System also took the 26th spot in the National Ranking, a step up from last year’s 27th spot.

The Webometrics Ranking of World Universities is an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain.

AD Scientific Index

The USTP System ranked 20th among Public Universities in the Philippines and 33rd among General Universities in the AD Scientific Index (Alper-Doger Scientific Index) 2024, released on October 8, 2023. The university also ranked 45th among all types of institutions in the country.

ISO

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) is recommended for continued certification for ISO 9001:2015 after the Surveillance Audit conducted last October 11-12, 2023, by external auditor SOCOTEC Certification Philippines.

The Surveillance Audit aims to check the continuous implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) 9001:2015. The international standard checks the processes and activities to improve service effectiveness and efficiency.

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines ranked 47th in the List of 100 best universities in the Philippines published on EduRank, an independent metric-based ranking of 14,131 universities from 183 countries.

EduRank ranked the 100 best universities in the Philippines based on their reputation, research performance, and alumni impact. They processed 373,000 citations received from 30,400 publications made by 229 universities in the Philippines, measured the popularity of 889 recognized alumni, and utilized the largest available links database to account for non-academic prominence.

The USTP System continues to be one of the leading state universities in the Philippines by maintaining its Level IV Status as State University (Highest Distinction) as adjudged by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
