The USTP Innovation Ecosystem

USTP continues to develop its Innovation Ecosystem in Northern Mindanao through its collaborations with other educational institutions, centers/institutes, accelerators/incubators, government agencies, funders, co-working spaces, and more.

The University’s demographic advantage in the Gateway to Mindanao affords it with the strategic location with a wealth of vast agricultural lands and rich natural resources, huge potential for industrial development, presence of power generation services, and a skilled and literate workforce.

This is strengthened by the establishment of three Science and Technology Parks that form part of the Innovation Triangle of Northern Mindanao: the PHIVIDEC S&T Park in Villanueva, the Agropolis S&T Park in Claveria, and the AGILA S&T Park in Alubijid.

Establishment of the Research Centers and Institutes

NMFIC

The establishment of the Northern Mindanao Food Innovation Center (NMFIC) was deeply founded on the commitment to provide innovative solutions in the region’s food industry. It was a commitment shared by USTP, DOST, DTI, FOPANORMIN, and the Office of the 2nd Congressional District of Cagayan de Oro City with a common aspiration to effectively address existing challenges to food security and safety.

CDObites

Local business technology incubator CDO b.i.t.e.s. (Business Incubation Technology Entrepreneurship and Startups) of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) gains recognition for advancing science and technology in the Philippines and its accomplishments in enabling the innovations in their sector.

CDO b.i.t.e.s., being a university based TBI has contributed to the community in the region by becoming the center of innovation, building a network of key innovation partners, generating jobs and attracting investments.

Technology Promotions and Commercialization Office

TPCO aims to create and nurture a working innovation ecosystem that promotes entrepreneurship and commercialization of technologies to contribute to the economic and social development of the community.Technology transfer and commercialization of products to support and nurture the innovation ecosystem in the university.

Master in Public Sector Innovations

MPSI is the maiden academic program of Institute of Governance, Innovations and Sustainability (IGIS) designed for the professional advancement of individuals engaged in public sector work. It is co-designed with U.S.based Golden Gate University and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID, a non-thesis track for professionals with any public sector involvement, and urban & regional planning and development.
