Behind the Scenes of Success: USTP Claveria Chancellor highlights Faculty’s Role in Student Growth

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Claveria (USTP Claveria) conducted a campus-wide seminar-workshop on effective classroom management on May 14, 2025, at the Function Hall of the Administration Building, USTP Claveria. USTP Claveria Chancellor Dr. Renato O. Arazo delivered an inspiring message to faculty members, emphasizing the critical role educators play in shaping student success.
In his address, Dr. Arazo pointed out that the true work of fostering future “champions” occurs not just in the classroom but also in the deliberate and often unseen efforts of educators. He stressed that it is the preparation that goes into crafting engaging lessons, developing effective strategies, and cultivating a positive learning environment that truly equips students with the resilience and skills needed to excel in life.
“The power of education lies in the shadow and power of preparation,” Dr. Arazo said, highlighting that behind every successful student is a dedicated educator who has invested time and effort into these essential tasks.
He urged the faculty to embrace their critical roles, noting that the commitment and resilience they demonstrate often behind the scenes are key to ensuring meaningful learning experiences for students. Dr. Arazo’s words served as a powerful call for educators to continue their dedication in shaping future generations, stressing the importance of building not just academic skills but also the character needed for lifelong success.
The seminar-workshop is part of USTP’s ongoing professional development initiatives, aimed at enhancing instructional practices and classroom management across its campuses.
