Championing Health and Community: USTP Claveria racers shine in PNP Run for the Elderly

The PNP Run for the Elderly, held on February 23, 2025, in Balacanas, Villanueva, Misamis Oriental, brought together athletes, advocates, and community members for a meaningful cause. The event aimed at raising awareness and support for senior citizens while promoting fitness and wellness across all age groups.

USTP Claveria student Fee Lofranco stole the spotlight as she clinched the Women’s Championship in the 5-kilometer race. Lofranco’s impressive finish showcased her athletic ability and commitment to the cause as she led the pack to the finish line.

In the men’s 5-kilometer race, Rogelio Supangan Jr. secured a strong second-place finish, demonstrating his endurance and sportsmanship. Meanwhile, Arnel Oiuqolopma Basas took home the championship title in the 3-kilometer men’s category, solidifying his status as a rising star in local athletics.

The event, organized with support from local government units and various sponsors, emphasized the importance of community action in caring for the elderly. By combining fitness and advocacy, the PNP Run for the Elderly united people in a shared goal: to ensure better health and well-being for senior citizens.
