CHED commends USTP for global rankings performance at ICONS 2025

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) received a Certificate of Commendation from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) during the Internationalization Champions of Nation-Building and Sustainability (ICONS) Awards 2025, held on December 10, 2025 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Pasay City. USTP System President Dr. Ambrosio B. Cultura II received the award.
USTP was recognized as an exemplary champion of Philippine higher education for its strong commitment to internationalization and sustainability, marked by notable performances in globally recognized rankings:
- QS Asia Rankings 2026 (1401–1500)
- Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025 (1001–1500)
- World University Rankings for Innovation 2025 (Top 294)
The commendation underscores USTP’s growing global footprint and impactful contributions to nation-building and ASEAN regional development.
Organized by CHED through its International Affairs Service, the ICONS Awards honor higher education institutions with high-impact initiatives, trailblazing internationalization efforts, and consistent excellence in international rankings.
USTP has been an ICONS awardee since 2022 reaffirming its sustained leadership in advancing globally competitive and socially responsive higher education.
