Developer Student Clubs kick-off Solutions Week

We are on the roll for the Developer Student Clubs (DSC) USTP Solutions Week!

Day one started with the opening remarks from the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) System President Dr. Ambrosio B. Cultura II who talked about the immense potential of what the youth can contribute to the community.

USTP System President Dr. Ambrosio B. Cultura II and Ms. Erica Hanson deliver the opening and welcome remarks respectively during the first day of the DSC USTP Solutions Week.

Ms. Erica Hanson, Developer Relations Program Manager at Google, delivered her welcome remarks all the way from New York City.

The lead community manager for the DSC Program in Southeast Asia and Pakistan Region, Mr. Shad Roi dela Cruz, gave an amazing talk on How Technology Changes the World.

Mr. Matthew R. Maulion, Data Science Instructor and an alumnus of USTP Cagayan de Oro, also gave an inspirational message leaving the participants with three key messages: D – Discover to Deliver, S – Seek Countless Solutions, and C – Create and Collaborate.

The DSC Solutions Week include webinars and online technical workshops with topics on Design Thinking, User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) Designing, Mobile Development Using Flutter, Machine Learning, Firebase in Action and Project Pitching.

Participants are assigned a mentor who will help them ideate, build and finalize a solution for their chosen Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) in a two minute video.

Solutions Week is an event that encourages participants to develop a solution using technologies that Google currently provides. It will run from February 8 until February 13.
