Dr Cuasito Officially Visits Mayor Abrogar

(June 29, 2020) A week after being designated as OIC-Chancellor of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines-Claveria Campus, Dr. Ruvel J. Cuasito together with Dr. Renato O. Arazo, Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs, paid a courtesy visit to Claveria Mayor Meraluna S. Abrogar. The municipality of Claveria is tauted to be one of the booming municipalities of the Province of Misamis Oriental, making the presence of USTP all the more significant, especially in shaping the socio-economic lanscape of the area.

In his visit, Dr. Cuasito pledged support to the Local Government Unit’s endeavor of uplifting the living conditions of its constituents, particularly on Education. The Mayor responded positively by committing her administration’s full cooperation on the various activities that the University will be undertaking. Besides her office also prioritizes education, the mayor added.

Moreover, Mayor Abrogar emphasized the need to observe the new normal conditions as USTP will be dealing with students. Chancellor Cuasito responded to this challenge stressing the University’s zealous implementation to quarantine protocols in all its campuses as prescribed by the national government.

Dr. Cuasito was then the Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs of the CDO campus prior to his present post. Before that Dr. Cuasito served as the Dean of the College of Technology at the same campus. He holds a Doctor in Technology Education from the Mindanao University of Science and Technology (now USTP), and earned his Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of San Carlos in Cebu City. He is a licensed Professional Electronics Engineer. A few years back, Dr. Cuasito served as Full Professor at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Program of the Debre Markos University in Ethiopia, Africa. He has vast experience in research, instruction, production and extension, and has a consistent record and passion for excellence.
