The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) recently distributed assistance to 106 students of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) in Panaon through its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.

The AICS is a crucial component of the DSWD’s social welfare services, aimed at extending aid in various forms, such as medical support, burial assistance, transportation, education, food provisions, and financial aid to individuals or families facing challenging circumstances.

The assistance disbursed by the DSWD last December 13-14, 2023, at the DSWD Satellite Office in Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental, represents a significant effort to ensure that students facing economic hardships can access the necessary resources to sustain their academic journey.
