The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Alubijid, Misamis Oriental (USTP Alubijid) recently conducted a successful Tree Planting Activity in collaboration with the Commission on Higher Education – Region X (CHED – Region X) and various Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). This initiative was led by the National Service Training Program (NSTP) students, in line with the provisions of Republic Act No. 7722, also known as the “Higher Education Act of 1994,” and Republic Act No. 10176, or the “Arbor Day Act of 2012.” These laws uphold the State’s commitment to protecting and advancing the people’s right to live in harmony with nature by combating the loss of natural resources and promoting environmental rejuvenation. The activity was held at USTP Alubijid on March 14, 2025.

The tree planting activity was a successful and meaningful event, reinforcing the importance of environmental stewardship among students and stakeholders. It demonstrated the power of collaborative efforts in addressing ecological concerns and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to sustainability.

Through continuous efforts and engagement, this initiative will not only benefit the present generation but also create a greener and healthier future for the next generation.
