Innovation takes center stage at USTP Systemwide Pitching Competition 2026

Showcasing the strength of student-led innovation and entrepreneurial thinking, the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP), through the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (CET), successfully held its systemwide pitching competition on March 25, 2026, at the ITB AVR, COM Building, USTP Cagayan de Oro. The competition served as a platform for bold ideas and transformative solutions aimed at addressing real-world challenges.

Participating in the event were student innovators from USTP campuses in Alubijid, Balubal, Cagayan de Oro, Claveria, Jasaan, Panaon, Oroquieta, and Villanueva, highlighting the University’s strong culture of collaboration and innovation across its campuses.

More than a showcase, the initiative reflects CET’s mission of providing students with opportunities to present, validate, and refine their entrepreneurial ideas—bridging academic learning with industry-relevant application in line with the university’s vision.

Throughout the pitching sessions, teams demonstrated a strong grasp of problem-solving, market  relevance,  and  sustainability delivering  presentations  shaped by preparation and collaboration. Each pitch highlighted not only creativity, but also the potential to evolve into viable ventures, reinforcing the university’s commitment to developing future entrepreneurs..

After careful evaluation by a panel of distinguished judges; Ms. Rhea Suzette Haguisan, Engr. Bronson Mabulay, and Engr. Kristian Anquillano. Below are the top teams who excels in the competition:

Their winning entries stood out for their clarity of vision, innovative approach, and strong potential for real-world application—demonstrating how student-led ideas can move beyond concepts toward impactful solutions.

Beyond recognizing excellence, the competition underscored a broader purpose: to cultivate a culture of innovation, collaboration, and resilience among students. Supported by mentors and industry practitioners, participants were encouraged to push boundaries, refine their concepts, and explore pathways from product conceptualization to commercialization.

As the event concluded, it reaffirmed CET’s role as a driving force in nurturing a dynamic innovation ecosystem within USTP, one that empowers students to translate ideas into action. The Systemwide Pitching Competition 2026 was not just a contest, but a strategic step toward building a new generation of innovators equipped to contribute to industry, community development, and national practices.
