PCS–USTP CDO celebrates World Wetlands Day 2024

The Pollution Control Section (PCS) of USTP Cagayan de Oro celebrated World Wetlands Day last February 3, 2024, by conducting a Mangrove Tree Planting and Clean-up Drive at Sitio Punta, Barangay Bonbon, Cagayan de Oro City.

The activity was held following the example set by EMB Northern Mindanao, implemented through the initiative of QuestIon Mark in collaboration with CLENRO CDO and the Environmental Science Society – USTP. It aligns with the commitment of PCS to fulfill its objectives incorporated in its Clean Act Campaign.

The mangrove planting and coastal clean-up initiative highlighted the steadfast commitment of PCS to environmental conservation. Through community engagement, the PCS helped restore coastal ecosystems and heightened awareness about the significance of mangroves and the detrimental impact of marine pollution.

These efforts align with the PCS mission to promote environmental stewardship and engage the community in sustainable practices. The PCS believes these activities contribute to a more informed and environmentally conscious public.
