Promoting Institutional Growth: USTP Jasaan’s 2025 Midyear Evaluation

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Jasaan, Misamis Oriental (USTP Jasaan) successfully held its Midyear Evaluation for the Office Performance Commitment and Review 2025 (OPCR 2025) and Team Synergy Exercise on July 2–4, 2025, at Camiguin Highland Resort, Mambajao, Camiguin. The three-day activity aimed to evaluate institutional performance, address operational gaps, and promote teamwork among campus personnel.

The first day featured team synergy activities facilitated by USTP CDO representatives Dr. Ralph Vendel E. Musni; Ms. Angielyn S. Caipang; and Ms. Lovely M. Apostol, RGC. The session began with opening remarks from Dr. Ruel S. Salvador, REE, Acting Campus Director of USTP Jasaan, and concluded with a reflection and sharing session. 

The focus of day two was on academic and administrative performance. Discussions included a review of OPCR 2025 targets and accomplishments, performance challenges, internal audit results, and identification of root causes and corrective actions.

On the third day, campus units presented corrective actions and proposed programs and budgets for fiscal year 2026. An open consultation was also held to gather feedback and recommendations. The formal sessions ended with a synthesis of key takeaways and a closing program.

To cap the activity, participants toured Camiguin’s renowned tourist spots, showcasing the island’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.

Moreover, the USTP Jasaan delegation paid a courtesy call at the Municipal Hall of Mambajao upon their arrival in Camiguin. Vice Mayor Atty. Robert H. Closas, on behalf of Hon. Mayor Yggy Romualdo, warmly welcomed the group. USTP Jasaan extends its gratitude to the Province of Camiguin and the Local Government of Mambajao for their hospitality and support.

The event effectively combined strategic planning with team-building, contributing to a more cohesive and goal-driven campus community committed to the sustainable future of the university.
