On November 26, 2020, the Research Office of USTP Cagayan de Oro organized the virtual scientific lectures with Dr. Richard Diaz Alorro and Dr. Noel Peter Bengzon Tan.
Dr. Oliva Canencia, Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation of USTP CDO, hoped that the lecture would “enhance [the faculty members’] capacities to develop and be more critical in terms of analyzing problems.”
Dr. Alorro is a Senior Lecturer of Metallurgical Engineering of the Western Australia School of Mines, Minerals, Energy and Chemical Engineering at Curtin University, Western Australia. His lecture was entitled “Resources Recycling of Critical and Strategic Metals from Urban/Technospheric Mines: Applications, Strategies, and Challenges.”
Dr. Tan is part of the Balik Scientist Program of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) with the University of San Carlos as the host university. His discussion was on Solution Blow Spun (SBS)-Nanofibers: Methods and Applications.
The lecture was attended by the USTP CDO College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA) faculty members.
It was concluded with a virtual awarding of certificates of appreciation for the guest lecturers, as well as the closing remarks from Mr. Paul Joseph Estrera, Research Program Officer.
“We are looking forward that we can have a research collaboration with you,” said Mr. Estrera added, addressing the guest lecturers.
