TCM Synergy Summit: Showcasing Creativity, Innovation, and Communication Excellence

The Department of Technology Communication Management (DTCM) of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Cagayan de Oro (USTP CDO) celebrated student creativity, innovation, and academic growth during the TCM Synergy Summit, organized by the State University of Technology Communication Management Society – CDO (SUTCMS). Held on May 28, 2025, at the 5th floor of SM CDO Downtown Premier, the summit served as a vibrant platform for showcasing the students’ talents and ideas.

The event featured three major programs:

Beyond+

A startup pitch segment that showcases the innovative ideas of students. Six teams participated in this event, presenting their groundbreaking technopreneurship concepts. The following teams participated: Best Before, Nutri Buddy, AlistoGo, PWD-E, Pet Talk, IDEAX.

Pagpanukiduki 

An exhibit dedicated to student-led research addressing pressing concerns within industry and community. Eight teams participated in the Pagpanukiduki Research Congress, each prepared to present their findings and insights, which aim to contribute to the future of Technology Communication Management (TCM).  The teams that participated were as follows: Team Saring, Team Mejia, Team Alunday, Team Flores, Team Paculba, Team Salcedo, Team Gomez, Team Fajanilag.

Seenehan

A film screening featuring short films produced by students. Two teams participated in the film contest. The following films were Akong Dakong Sala by Fern Omboy, Ala Ala by Fern Omboy, and Respectfully, Yours by Ailjunn Katipunan.

Following the conclusion of the three significant segments, the winners were announced. Each category featured its respective winners.

Beyond+

First Place – Best Before

A platform that connects businesses and consumers by determining the suitability of food products for sale. It also facilitates the donation of surplus edible items to those in need, ensuring that good food doesn’t go to waste. Additionally, the initiative promotes composting practices for inedible products, contributing to waste reduction and supporting a more sustainable, eco-friendly community.

Second Place – Nutri Buddy

An innovative platform that tackles malnutrition through smart health monitoring, AI-powered support, and efficient food aid distribution. Designed for both local and global impact, it offers scalable, tech-driven solutions for healthier communities.

Third Place – Pet Talk

An AI-powered pet communication mobile app that helps you understand your pets better by analyzing your pet’s emotions, behaviors, and needs through image scanning and AI-powered behavior tracking.
