Dr. Adolph Vincent E. Vigor, UAP, RIBA, Department Chair of the Bachelor of Science in Architecture (BS Architecture) program at the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in USTP Cagayan de Oro (USTP CDO), has brought home international honors after receiving three major awards at the 2nd International Conference on Sustainability, Innovation, and Technology (ICSIT 2025). The conference, held online via Zoom from June 19 to 21, 2025, gathered academics and professionals from countries including Canada, the U.S., U.K., UAE, India, and the Philippines.

Dr. Vigor represented USTP with his research titled “Revolutionizing Architectural Education: The Impact of a Web-Based Spatial Intelligence Module on First-Year Students.”
His paper swept all the awards in the Education Track category, garnering:
🏆 Best Abstract Award
🏆 Best Paper Award
🏆 Best Oral Presentation Award

His work underwent a tough three-stage blind peer review, judged by an international panel of experts. The event was organized by the Optimal Consulting and Research Center, in collaboration with Canadian University Dubai and the International Association of Scholarly Publishers, Editors, and Reviewers (IASPER). It was also accredited by the Skills Development Council of Canada.
To top it off, Dr. Vigor’s paper and other top submissions from the conference will be published in a Scopus-indexed journal under Springer Nature. It is a big step not just for him, but for USTP’s visibility on the global academic map.
For Dr. Vigor, the recognition is something he sees as a collective win.
“This isn’t just about me,” he said. “It’s about what we’ve built as a department and as a university. When you combine innovation with purpose, and support it through research, you can truly make an impact.”
As USTP continues to grow its global research presence, this achievement sets the bar even higher—motivating faculty, students, and researchers to keep pushing boundaries.
Keep moving onwards and up, Trailblazer!
