University deploys facial recognition technology

Personnel from the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) and Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration (VCFA) of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) in Cagayan de Oro facilitated the enrollment of employees’ credentials using the Facial Recognition Technology.

The technology uses a machine that has a camera and facial recognition capabilities. It can also determine if the person is not wearing a mask. It collects the time logs of employees and scans the temperature for monitoring. It promotes a contactless system much better than biometrics.

Enrollment of employees is scheduled per college/office.

This is a system developed by the Digital Transformation Office. Below is the scanned copy of the schedule of the face recognition technology enrollment.
