The Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED) major in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Balubal, Cagayan de Oro City (USTP Balubal), conducted a four-day faculty workshop from March 16 to 19, 2026. The workshop aimed at strengthening program readiness for the September 2026 Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT).

The workshop was led by USTP Balubal Academic Head Dr. Bernalyn Grace C. Alvarez, in collaboration with BTLED faculty members Jenmarie H. Dullente, Joe Jr. L. Cagatin, Brenda P. Bragat, Jason S. Maglupay, Anthony Michael C. Chua, and Ivy T. Bontrostro. The activity focused on aligning the institutional curriculum and review strategies with the latest Table of Specifications (TOS) issued by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) for the BTLED-ICT specialization.

The initial phase of the workshop, held at the USTP CDO Library, involved the revision and updating of course syllabi. Faculty members ensured that all learning competencies reflect current PRC standards, removing outdated content and integrating priority ICT competencies such as computer networking, programming logic, and digital pedagogy. This alignment aims to ensure that classroom instruction serves as continuous preparation for the licensure examination.

Following the syllabus revision, the faculty developed standardized assessment materials and a comprehensive test bank guided by the updated TOS. Test items were designed to reflect the structure, level of difficulty, and distribution of actual board examination questions, enabling students to be assessed based on the same standards set by the PRC.

The final phase of the workshop, conducted in Claveria, focused on finalizing a strategic review schedule for June to July 2026. The two-month review program will include structured lectures, coaching sessions, and mock board examinations based on the developed test materials, ensuring a systematic review of key ICT competencies.

This initiative highlights USTP Balubal’s commitment to improving licensure examination performance and ensuring that its graduates are well-prepared to meet professional standards and excel in the September 2026 BLEPT.
