USTP Balubal conducts symposium on safe and inclusive spaces

The Office of the Student Affairs (OSA) of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Balubal (USTP Balubal) successfully conducted a Symposium on Republic Act No. 11313 (Safe Spaces Act) on November 17, 2025, at the USTP Balubal AVR. The symposium provided an invaluable platform for raising awareness on the legal protections available against harassment, emphasizing the shared responsibilities of students, faculty, and institutions in maintaining a safe and respectful environment.

The event featured Atty. Neoven Patrick C. Emnace, Clerk of Court VI of the Regional Trial Court, Office of the Clerk of Court in Initao, Misamis Oriental, as the resource speaker. Atty. Emnace led an insightful and comprehensive discussion on the provisions of the Safe Spaces Act, also referred to as the Anti-Bastos Law. The legislation aims to combat gender-based sexual harassment in public spaces, workplaces, educational institutions, and online platforms.
