USTP Balubal prepares future teachers through BTLED pinning ceremony

In line with its pursuit of strengthening teacher education and professional preparation programs, the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Balubal, Cagayan de Oro City (USTP Balubal), conducted a Pinning Ceremony for its Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED) students on January 22, 2026, at the Performing Arts Theatre, USTP Cagayan de Oro.
The ceremony recognized 30 BTLED students, signifying their advancement to the next phase of their academic training and their readiness to take on larger roles as future educators in the fields of technology and livelihood education.
The program was formally opened by Ms. Jenmarie H. Dullente, MTTE, Department Head of BTLED, emphasizing the importance of the ceremony as a symbol of commitment, professionalism, and dedication to the teaching profession. Dr. Dennis A. Apuan, Acting Campus Director of USTP Balubal, delivered his inspirational speech highlighting excellence, integrity, and service as core values that should guide the students as they continue their academic and professional journey. This was then followed by a message from Dr. Tereza Ace D. Torres, representing Mr. Edwin O. Mamba, School Head of Balubal National High School, who expressed support and encouragement for the aspiring educators.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was the tribute offered by the students to their parents or guardians, acknowledging their invaluable support, sacrifices, and guidance throughout their academic journey.
The Pinning Ceremony underlines USTP Balubal’s commitment to developing more competent, values-driven, and socially conscious educators capable of contributing meaningfully to the enhancement of education and nation-building.
