The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) continues to enhance its capability for innovation through international capacity-building initiatives. Demonstrating this commitment, Dr. Vanessa Adalin-Garcia, Director of the Technology Promotion and Commercialization Office (TPCO), successfully completed the WIPO-CEIPI-INPI Advanced Certification Training Program on Intellectual Property, Technology Transfer, and Licensing, held in Strasbourg, France, from June 23 to 28, 2025. Her participation fortifies USTP’s innovation hub by equipping its leadership to drive university-born innovations and technologies to the global market.

The intensive program, co-organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Center for International Intellectual Property Studies (CEIPI) of the University of Strasbourg, and the French National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), had a rigorous curriculum focused on IP asset management, commercialization strategies, and licensing negotiations. As a member of a global cohort, Dr. Garcia worked alongside world-class experts from top research institutions, private sectors, and international organizations, expanding USTP’s connections and amplifying its role in the global innovation community.

This recognition further solidifies USTP’s active role in bringing research to practice in its strategic global partnership collaborations. Through its investment in foreign training and intellectual property and technology transfer capacity development, the university not only enhances its innovation capability but also becomes a forward-looking university dedicated to international collaborations and sustainable development through science, technology, and innovation.
