The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP), through the Center for Human Development (CHD), formalized key partnerships through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing on March 6, 2026, at the Boardroom of the Chancellor’s Office in USTP Cagayan de Oro. The event marked two significant developments for the university: the establishment of a new international partnership with the Institute for Educational Research and Publication (IFERP) and the strengthening of internal collaboration between the Department of Educational Planning and Administration (DEPA) and the Center for Human Development (CHD).
Through the partnership with IFERP, USTP will serve as an academic partner for the 6th International Conference on Engineering, Social Sciences, and Humanities (ICESSU). The collaboration provides the university with an opportunity to showcase its programs and research to a broader international audience.
The agreement also offers opportunities for both faculty members and students. Faculty may take on leadership roles during the conference and receive support in publishing their research in international journals. Students, meanwhile, will have the opportunity to participate in technical workshops and may benefit from discounted conference registration fees.
The partnership aims to translate academic knowledge into community-based initiatives. DEPA will contribute research-based concepts and project frameworks, while CHD will lead community engagement and implementation activities. Through this collaboration, faculty members and students will have greater opportunities to bring their ideas and innovations directly to communities that can benefit from them.
