The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Claveria, Misamis Oriental (USTP Claveria) has entered into a meaningful partnership with AES/Don Narciso Café/Restaurant on June 16, 2025, to offer part-time employment opportunities to students. This initiative is designed to support financially challenged students by helping them earn while they learn.

The collaboration was formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). Dr. Renato O. Arazo, Chancellor of USTP Claveria, signed the agreement on behalf of the university. Ms. Anatista C. Perez, the proprietor of AES/Don Narciso Café/Restaurant, represented the partner establishment. Also present at the MOA signing were Dr. Argin A. Gulanes, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Services; and Mr. Melchor Jr. T. Allado, Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Services. Both expressed their support for the initiative.

The agreement seeks to provide students with flexible work opportunities that complement their academic responsibilities. By engaging students in part-time roles, the partnership aims to ease financial burdens while offering valuable work experience in a real-world business setting.
Under the terms of the partnership, USTP Claveria and AES/Don Narciso Café will work together to monitor the academic performance of student employees, ensuring it remains a top priority. They will also provide training, supervision, and professional development to enhance students’ skills and prepare them for future employment.

This collaboration represents a significant step in USTP Claveria’s ongoing commitment to fostering inclusive education and creating opportunities for student success beyond the classroom.
