The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Claveria (USTP Claveria) conducted a three-day strategic planning workshop at C Resort, Libertad on December 15–17, 2025, bringing together campus officials, deans, unit heads, and Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation (PME) staff. The workshop evaluated the accomplishments of CHAMPION 1.0 and integrated Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for retention, reframing, elevation, and operationalization to guide participatory CHAMPION 2.0 initiatives, presented by Chancellor Dr. Renato O. Arazo.

Using data-driven analysis and the Retention–Elevation–Reframing–Operationalization (RERO) framework, participants assessed office and unit KPIs, identified best practices, addressed performance gaps, and developed actionable plans collaboratively. The activity was facilitated by resource person and facilitator Mr. Mark Lemuel Garcia, the Vice President – Development Academy of the Philippines of Mindanao.

Breakout sessions and plenary presentations enabled all offices to actively contribute, fostering inter-office coordination, shared accountability, and alignment with priority areas such as academic excellence, research productivity, extension services, and administrative efficiency.

A highlight of the workshop was the presentation of flagship CHAMPION 2.0 initiatives, including the proposed state-of-the-art campus library under the pillar of modernized university facilities, equipment, and services.

Engr. Val Irvin F. Mabayo, Head of Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation, oversaw the consolidation of outputs, while the Vice Chancellors served as team leaders providing oversight.

The workshop reaffirmed USTP Claveria’s commitment to continuous improvement, good governance, and responsive leadership, ensuring that CHAMPION 2.0 is a collaborative and participatory roadmap, integrating CHAMPION 1.0 gains with forward-looking innovations in instruction, research, extension, and community engagement, well aligned to the university’s DYNAMIC’s Strategic Direction.
