USTP Claveria distributes tablets for flexible learning

University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) System President Dr. Ambrosio B. Cultura II led the unboxing and distribution of tablets for flexible learning at USTP Claveria on March 17, 2021.

The initial 55 tablets were distributed to identified students who have no gadgets and internet connection. This comes with a three hundred pesos (Php300) monthly load for the whole year.

1,453 tablets is allocated for USTP Claveria in support to the Flexible Learning Program (FLP) of the University. Recipient students were encouraged to maximize the use of the tablets for their studies. The university will conduct continuous evaluation for the use and care of the tablets.

President Cultura said the new tablets does not only address the students’ needs during this difficult time but also manifest the university’s commitment in finding means to continue to provide quality education to the community it serves. He encouraged the students to use technology for other opportunities, to have that entrepreneurial mindset, and to connect/collaborate with others.

Operations for the USTP Claveria is currently under the direct supervision of the Office of the USTP System President.

Dr. Renato O. Arazo, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of USTP Claveria, reminded the students to take care of the gadgets entrusted to them.

Mr. Clint Django G. Pacana, Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration of USTP Claveria, thanked all those who toiled hard for the project to materialize.

Edwin Rivera, USTP Claveria Supreme Student Council (SSC) President, thanked the USTP leadership for the opportunity given to the students to use the gadgets which will help them in their studies especially that they are having online classes.
