USTP Claveria excels in Inter-School Athletics Tournament, clinches multiple awards

Athletes from the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Claveria, Misamis Oriental (USTP Claveria) showcased their exceptional talent and determination at the Inter-School Athletics Tournament, dubbed the 1st Xavier Ateneo Track and Field, held at the Xavier University main campus on March 9, 2024, securing numerous accolades and leaving a mark of excellence in various competitions.

The tournament witnessed athletes from different schools competing fiercely in events such as sprinting, long jump, shot put, and more, where USTP Claveria athletes stood out victorious.

Norman Carl Luardo emerged as a standout, clinching the gold medal in the 400-meter run and the bronze medal in the 800-meter run. Meanwhile, Jenerson Acot displayed prowess with a gold medal in the 800-meter run, a silver medal in the 1500-meter run, and a bronze medal in the 800-meter run.

Fee Lofranco, the sole female representative from USTP Claveria, demonstrated her exceptional skills and determination on the track by securing the bronze medal in the 400-meter run, silver in the 1500 and 3000-meter runs, and a gold medal in the 800-meter run.

Reyell Jalapan added to the USTP Claveria’s success by clinching the gold medal in the discus throw and the silver medal in the shot put, contributing significantly to the team’s overall performance.

The outstanding achievement of USTP Claveria athletes highlighted their individual talent and underscored the university’s commitment to excellence in athletics.
