USTP Claveria BSHM interns begin professional training after pinning ceremony

The fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) interns of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Claveria, Misamis Oriental (USTP Claveria) marked a significant milestone during their Pinning Ceremony held on November 28, 2025, at the Administration Building, USTP Claveria. Organized by the Department of Hospitality Management, the event formally signified the students’ transition from academic preparation to professional engagement in the hospitality industry.
The ceremony opened with the Processional March and Entrance of Colors, followed by the opening remarks of Prof. Marlo T. Blane, who emphasized the importance of discipline, dedication, and passion in the field of hospitality. Guest speaker Mr. Rodfranco Caballero highlighted the need for resilience, adaptability, and professionalism as the interns prepare for industry immersion.
The Reading of the Essence of the Pinning Ceremony for Internship, led by Mrs. Sheree Ann Mopos, underscored the symbolism and meaning behind the rite. A reflective Prayer for Pinning was offered by Ms. Jane Tamon. The Pinning with Parents, regarded as the emotional highlight of the program, honored the unwavering support and encouragement that have guided the interns throughout their academic journey.
An inspirational message from Dr. Maribel S. Tizo encouraged the interns to embrace their forthcoming roles with integrity and confidence. This was followed by the Recitation of the Code of Ethics, led by Ms. Jessica Dawn McCall, while a message of support from Ms. Rina Daynes further strengthened the program’s sense of unity and celebration.
The ceremony concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Sheena Rubin, SAHM Adviser, followed by the Exit of Colors and a shared dinner among students, faculty, parents, and guests. The event served as a meaningful send-off, affirming the interns’ readiness, commitment, and dedication as they begin their professional journey.
