USTP Claveria holds Work Immersion Culmination for Senior High Students

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Claveria, Misamis Oriental (USTP Claveria), through its Career and Job Placement Services under the leadership of Director Zenelyn S. Labay, successfully hosted the Work Immersion Culmination Activity on February 28, 2025, at the Administration Building, USTP Claveria. The event celebrated the achievements of 102 senior high school students from Kalingagan National High School (KNHS), Christian Samaritan Health Services and Technical School Inc. (CSHSTC), and Malitbog Agricultural High School (MAHS), who participated in a work immersion program at USTP Claveria from February 17 to 28, 2025.


The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Alexander L. Ido, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (VCAA), who led the ceremony. Dr. Renato O. Arazo, the university’s esteemed Chancellor, delivered an inspirational message to the students. The representatives of the participating schools Ms. Anna Marie G. Aguiman (KNHS), Ms. Maicy Daigon (CSHSTC), and Ms. Cherry S. Ponteraras (MAHS), thanked USTP Claveria for the opportunity given to their students, enabling them to gain valuable experience in a university setting.


The event featured various performances showcasing the talents of the immersion students. Afterward, selected supervisors provided constructive feedback, including Ms. Karen A. Lucino (University Registrar), Engr. Aiza Go Icalina (PSO), Mr. Seigfred Mordeño (Landscape Supervisor), Ms. Lezil Jabagat (MPP Manager), and Engr. Justin C. Paday (Extension Associate).
Student representatives, Ms. Christene Faith Agcopra (CSHSTC), Ms. Jessel Bete (MAHS), and Ms. Riza Joy Lumindas (KNHS), shared their reflections on the insights and experiences they gained throughout the immersion program.
The event concluded with Dr. Argin A. Gulanes, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Services (VCSAS), delivering the closing remarks. He praised the students’ commitment and emphasized the university’s dedication to providing industry-relevant education that helps prepare students for successful careers. It highlighted the USTP Claveria’s ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships with local schools and foster student growth in preparation for their future professional endeavors.
