First-year Hospitality Management students of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Claveria, Misamis Oriental (USTP Claveria), took a significant step toward real-world industry exposure as they conducted an educational hotel ocular visit on November 22, 2025, at the Chali Beach Resort, Marianne Suites Hotel, and Seriva Mountain Resort. The activity aimed to deepen students’ understanding of hotel operations and strengthen their connection between classroom learning and actual hospitality practices.

The immersive tour allowed students to observe key operational areas, including front office management, housekeeping procedures, food and beverage services, and guest relations. Hotel staff and managers warmly welcomed the students, offering valuable insights into daily operations, service standards, and the importance of maintaining excellent customer experience in the highly competitive hospitality sector.

At Chali Beach Resort, students explored the resort’s guest service flow and facilities management, gaining firsthand knowledge of how leisure destinations ensure comfort and satisfaction. During the visit to Marianne Suites Hotel, students were introduced to front desk processes, room preparation standards, and hotel administration functions essential to smooth business operations. Meanwhile, the stop at Seriva Mountain Resort showcased eco-tourism practices, property maintenance, and the unique strategies of mountain resort management.

Faculty members emphasized that the tour forms part of USTP Claveria’s commitment to providing outcome-based education and industry-aligned training for future hospitality professionals. By observing real-world hotel systems, students are encouraged to reflect on their career pathways and the competencies required in the field.

The ocular visit not only enriched academic learning but also inspired students to appreciate the intricacies and demands of hospitality work. As USTP Claveria continues to create avenues for experiential learning, the program reaffirms its dedication to producing competent, service-oriented, and industry-ready graduates.

With strengthened enthusiasm and expanded knowledge, the young hospitality learners returned to campus with a deeper understanding of what it takes to thrive in the hotel industry—marking this activity as a meaningful step in their journey toward becoming future hospitality leaders.
