The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Claveria, Misamis Oriental (USTP Claveria) has taken a significant step toward strengthening English language instruction through the conduct of the two-day training workshop in Job Enabling English Proficiency  JEEP Start 1 & 2- Computer-Assisted Language Learning, now revived and rebranded as JEEP NEO on February 12–13, 2026, at the JEEP Laboratory of USTP Claveria.

Neo by DynEd International is an AI-driven, mobile-first English language learning platform designed to accelerate fluency through a blended learning approach. Targeting the needs of our College students —the platform combines self-paced study with structured coaching sessions. The training workshop equipped 12 faculty members of USTP College of Arts and Sciences Language and Communication Department, with the knowledge and technical skills necessary to integrate the Neo Study App into the Job Enabling English Proficiency (JEEP) and Speech Laboratory programs with Maria Teresa Asuncion of the DynEd International as the resource person and trainer

The training aimed to prepare faculty members for the effective implementation of the NEO platform, enhancing classroom instruction through advanced digital tools. Participants were introduced to the system’s AI-driven personalization feature, which analyzes learner performance and adjusts study paths to focus on areas needing improvement while minimizing time spent on mastered content.

Faculty members also explored the app’s speech recognition technology, which enables learners to record their voices and receive immediate AI-generated feedback on pronunciation and fluency. The platform’s 6,000-point weekly motivation system—designed to encourage consistent, short daily study sessions—was highlighted as a key component in promoting learner accountability and readiness for certification tests.

Aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), the NEO curriculum covers proficiency levels from pre-A1 to C1, including a C1-Bridge level. Advancement requires the completion of Mastery Tests, which unlock internationally recognized certification assessments. The system also features a “My Lessons” option, allowing students to save and revisit specific lesson steps for reinforcement.

Dr. Ma. Liza D. Manliquez of the Language and Communication department of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and former coordinator of the JEEP Program, shall serve as the coordinator of the JEEP Neo Program.

The revival of the language laboratory program underscores USTP Claveria’s commitment to innovative, technology-driven education. With faculty now trained and equipped, the campus is poised to implement the AI-powered platform as part of its broader efforts to improve English proficiency among its students.
