The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Claveria, Misamis Oriental (USTP Claveria) officially opened the Sagop-Kadasig Food Pantry on February 23, 2026 to provide food assistance to students in need.
The activity was led by Ms. Jasmin P. Moner, RSW, faculty member of the College of Arts and Sciences and Affirmative Action Program Coordinator of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Services (OVCSAS). Ms. Moner facilitated the distribution of fresh vegetables and conducted brief screenings to identify ten (10) students who received rice assistance, ensuring that support was extended to qualified beneficiaries. Dr. Argin A. Gulanes, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Services, also attended the opening, reaffirming the University’s commitment to student welfare and food security.
Rice assistance was provided by the Local Government Unit of Claveria and the Crowing Care Corporation, while fresh vegetables were sourced from partner merchant Ms. Dolores Conhot and Mr. Adrian Conhot of Ani-e, Claveria. Mr. Paulino Olano of the Auxiliary Management Division assisted in the transport and delivery of the goods. Through the Sagop-Kadasig Food Pantry, USTP continues to provide responsive support to students and strengthen a culture of care within the University.
