The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Claveria, Misamis Oriental (USTP Claveria), celebrated its 2025 Charter Day last August 12-16, 2025. The event set a positive tone for a week of festivities and community involvement.

On the opening day, Ms. Maricar Y. Valdez, Guidance Counselor of USTP Claveria, and Dr. Alexander L. Ido, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, delivered a lecture titled “Living the USTP Core Values for Impact and Innovation.” Both speakers highlighted how these values encourage innovation and drive progress in science and technology. They urged participants to apply these values in their academic and professional lives. The lecture energized the audience and inspired a focus on inclusivity, teamwork, and actively creating meaningful innovations that can benefit society.

This year’s Charter Day theme, “100 Years in the Making: Reliving the Legacy, Igniting Dreams,” celebrates heritage and unity. It encourages the USTP community to honor its roots while working towards a common vision for the future. After the lecture, events began across all USTP campuses to strengthen connections among students and faculty. These activities are designed to promote creativity, teamwork, and school spirit.

Social media was active with photos and reflections from participants, highlighting the vibrant energy of the celebration. With academic competitions, cultural showcases, and various activities still on the agenda, the weeklong Charter Day celebration reinforces USTP’s commitment to developing the next generation of innovators and leaders in science and technology.

The 2025 Charter Day celebration stands as a testament not only to the university’s journey but also to its unwavering commitment to cultivating the next generation of innovators and leaders in science and technology.
