In a significant effort to promote inclusive and equitable education, the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Claveria, Misamis Oriental (USTP Claveria) has partnered with ARKAS Computer Shop, a local business in Poblacion, Claveria. This partnership will provide free printing services to students facing financial hardship.

The partnership was officially established with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on June 10, 2025. The agreement was signed by Chancellor Renato O. Arazo, Ph.D., representing USTP Claveria, and Mr. Arnel E. Eduria, the owner of ARKAS Computer Shop.

This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on students who struggle to afford printed academic materials, particularly those required for research and thesis work. Under this agreement, eligible students will have access to free printing services for essential documents, including proposals, revisions, and final manuscripts.

To ensure that these services reach the intended beneficiaries, only students who are formally endorsed by the Office of Student Affairs or their respective colleges will qualify. These endorsements will confirm the student’s financial need.

The MOA signing was also witnessed by Dr. Argin A. Gulanes, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Services, and Ms. Crystal Joy E. Eduria, representing ARKAS Computer Shop. Their presence underscored the shared commitment of both institutions to support student success through community collaboration.

This partnership reflects USTP Claveria’s ongoing efforts to eliminate barriers to education and enhance academic support systems for all students, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds.
