USTP Claveria recognizes Faculty Members for Completing Graduate Degrees

In its continued commitment to faculty development and academic excellence, the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Claveria, Misamis Oriental (USTP Claveria), formally recognized eight (8) faculty members who completed their graduate studies, including master’s and doctorate degrees. The recognition was announced during the regular Monday Convocation on June 30, 2025, at the University Student Lounge, USTP Claveria.

USTP Claveria Chancellor Dr. Renato O. Arazo commended the honorees for their unwavering dedication to academic advancement despite the challenges of balancing work, family, and studies.

The recognized faculty members represent the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Engineering and Technology, and the College of Agriculture of USTP Claveria. They earned their degrees from various reputable institutions across the country and abroad.

“These achievements are not only personal milestones but are also significant contributions to the university’s pursuit of excellence in instruction, research, and extension,” Dr. Arazo said in his message. “Their commitment to higher learning reflects the university’s goal of strengthening our human resources to better serve the community and our students.”

The recognition served as an inspiration to both faculty and students, reinforcing USTP Claveria’s vision of producing globally competitive professionals and scholars. It also aligns with the university’s strategic development plan, which emphasizes capacity building and the pursuit of advanced degrees among its teaching personnel.

This milestone underscores USTP Claveria’s proactive support in building a culture of academic rigor and excellence, further solidifying its standing as a leading institution in Northern Mindanao.

The eight recognized faculty members are:

Dr. Marlo T. Blane earned his Doctor in Hospitality Management degree from the Philippine Women’s University in Manila.

Dr. Ma Liza D. Manliquez was conferred the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Education, Major in Instructional Systems Design at Bukidnon State University.

Ms. Hanah Grace S. Parcasio was conferred the degree of Master of Arts in Sociology (MA) at Bukidnon State University.

Engr. Efren Paul I. Arevalo earned his Master of Science in Agricultural Engineering (MSAE) at the University of the Philippines Los Baños.

Ma. Katrina Tion earned her master’s degree in Soil Science at the University of the Philippines Los Baños.

Juver B. Jabagat earned his master’s degree in Animal Nutrition at the University of the Philippines Los Baños.

Dr. Rusty Cagas earned her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Animal Science at the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines Claveria.

 

Dr. Val Irvin F. Mabayo earned his Master of Arts in Engineering, major in Environmental Engineering, from Samar State University.
