The forum aimed to educate and empower all student organization leaders and their advisers/moderators on the provisions of Republic Act No. 11053, also known as the Anti-Hazing Act of 2018.
The event opened with Dr. Argin Gulanes, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Services at USTP Claveria, who delivered the opening remarks and emphasized the importance of upholding respect, integrity, and accountability in every student-led activity. Following this, OSA Director Dr. Lindylou M. Yamuta presented the rationale of the event, highlighting the importance of aligning institutional initiatives with national efforts to prevent hazing through proper education, awareness, and leadership development. She then formally introduced the resource speaker.
The highlight of the program was the in-depth presentation of Atty. Janelle B. Rojas provided a comprehensive explanation and elaboration on Republic Act No. 11053, also known as the Anti-Hazing Act of 2018. Her talk provided student leaders and advisers with a clearer understanding of the law and their shared responsibility in preventing harmful practices within organizations.
An engaging Open Forum followed, where student leaders actively raised questions and shared insights. This exchange demonstrated their commitment to promoting safe, inclusive, and responsible student communities.
The forum ended with a renewed collective resolve to protect student welfare, uphold ethical leadership, and ensure that hazing has no place within the campus community.
