USTP Claveria sustains student learning amidst the pandemic through load assistance

of load assistance to students in USTP Claveria.

A total of 162 students from the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) in Claveria, Misamis Oriental received the initial load assistance from the University.

The load assistance is part of the communication expenses that the Board of Regents (BOR) approved through Board Resolution No. 146 Series of 2020 which implements the support for USTP students and faculty for online learning.

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs in USTP Claveria assisted in the distribution of load worth Php 300 each to students who have gadgets but needs load.

Despite the impact of COVID-19 on the education sector, the University continues to uphold its mandate by providing quality education through online classes to the students.

“Our university remains committed to support, in any way that we can, students that have been at home especially during this challenging times such as 2020 and now 2021. With the assistance from our (University) system and great dedication from our faculty, we provided the much needed support that respond to our students’ needs on their classes,” Dr. Renato O. Arazo, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, said in a radio interview with DXGG-USTP FM 104.3 Radio Station.

First batch of student recipients for the load assistance

For USTP Claveria, communication support for students and faculty who have gadgets but needs load amounts to 3.3 million pesos.

The first batch of 150 mobile tablets with monthly load subscription will soon be distributed to students.
