In attaining national research collaboration, Mr. Jan Michael R. Remolado, Dean of College of Nursing of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental (USTP CDO) officially joined the Research Utilization Committee Chairs of the Philippine National Health Research System (PNHRS) at Cebu Parklane International Hotel, Cebu City, Philippines on December 4 to 5, 2025. He also represented Region X as the Research Utilization Committee (RUC) Chair of the Northern Mindanao Consortium for Health Research and Development (NorMinCoHRD).
Mr. Remolado’s shared opportunity as one of the chairs in the committee bolsters national initiative aimed at strengthening research-to-policy capacity across regional consortia.
The activity equipped RUC Chairs with a standardized tool to assess Research-to-Policy Translation competencies of researchers within their consortium and member institutions—supporting the identification of strengths, gaps, and opportunities to enhance research utilization practices.
This engagement underscores the commitment of the USTP through its affiliation with NorMinCoHRD, to reinforce evidence-informed decision-making and contribute to a more responsive and impactful health research ecosystem in Northern Mindanao and across the country.
