USTP Convergence 2025: Fueling Ideas and Igniting the Future

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Alubijid, Misamis Oriental (USTP Alubijid), sparked a new wave of creativity and collaboration through the Convergence 2025 held on May 30, 2025, at USTP Alubijid. It was a showcase of ingenuity where innovation, commercialization, and entrepreneurship intersect. Spearheaded by the Research, Innovation, and Extension Section, in partnership with and full support of the Technology Promotion and Commercialization Office (TPCO) and the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (CET), the event brought students and ideas together under one bold vision. With the theme “A Synergy of Innovation, Commercialization, and Entrepreneurship,” this convergence featured three signature activities that highlighted student talent and forward-thinking solutions.
The event opened with an IP Talk attended by students from various degree programs on the campus, where they learned the value of intellectual property rights and how to protect their innovations. This was followed by the Research Poster Exhibit, which presented the culminating thesis projects of civil engineering and computer science students, offering solutions to real-world problems through research and design.
The energy peaked during the Technopreneurship Pitch Jam, where students from computer engineering, civil engineering, and computer science took center stage to pitch their entrepreneurial innovations. Their ideas of tech-driven platforms and solutions reflected the spirit of innovation with impact.
To celebrate excellence and originality, awards were conferred for the Best Poster and the Pitch Jam Champion, recognizing outstanding contributions to research and technopreneurship. Through the generosity of sponsors and faculty members, winners received cash and in-kind prizes as tokens of appreciation for their creativity and hard work.
The Convergence 2025 is more than just an event; it’s a platform that empowers USTP students to innovate boldly, think entrepreneurially, and lead confidently into the future, championing a culture of innovation. This convergence marks another milestone in building a generation of solution-makers and changemakers.
