Professors from the Golden Gate University of San Francisco and a renowned digital marketing expert in the country led a two day online workshop to support USTP in marketing and promoting its new Urban Learning Development Program (UDLP).
The workshop was entitled “Marketing and Promotions for the IGIS-Master in Public Sector Innovations/ An Urban Development Learning Program”.
Dr. Jay Gonzalez, the Chief Marketing Officer and professor at Golden Gate University, together with Dr. Terry Curl and Dr. Willie Britt, spoke about Principles of Effective Messaging, Marketing Strategies and Niche Marketing. Marketing consultant and digital marketing expert Ms. Kristine Anne Taton discussed about Marketing Communication and Design. Participants were asked to create an initial advertising campaign for USTP’s new UDLP

USTP is offering the Master in Public Sector Innovations (MPSI) program. It is the maiden academic program of the Institute of Governance, Innovations and Sustainability (IGIS) designed for the professional advancement of individuals engaged in public sector work.
This new program is co-designed with Golden Gate University’s Executive Master of Public Administration program with the support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) – Strengthening Urban Resilience for Growth with Equity (SURGE) Project.
The workshop was conducted online in compliance with health protocols. The participants include members from USTP’s IGIS and Strategic Communication Office, representatives from Holy Name University (HNU) in Tagbilaran City, and the University of the Philippines-Visayas (UPV) in Iloilo City.
Master in Public Sector Innovations (MPSI)
The MPSI is a two-year designed program with four pathways/specialization that has strong relevance to emerging global and national themes in the public sector:
The MPSI program has long been envisioned by three former USTP presidents, Dr. Montano Salvador, Dr. Ricardo Rotoras, Dr. Rosalito Quirino (OIC-President) and current USTP President Dr. Ambrosio B. Cultura II, as part of the roadmap for innovative driven education and life-long learning.
The MPSI program aims to produce professionals as innovative leaders and managers in the public service institutions at the municipal, provincial, national and international levels.
The Master in Public Sector Innovations (MPSI) program is scheduled to be offered by January 2021. It is headed by Dr. Demetria May T. Saniel, Director for Institute of Governance, Innovations and Sustainability (IGIS) and Dr. Maria Noelyn Dano, Deputy Director and Global Reach Desk Lead of the IGIS.
USTP and Golden Gate University (GGU) signed a memorandum of agreement in 2019 to develop academic cooperation and promote mutual understanding between both universities. GGU is California’s fourth oldest private university.
