USTP holds Job Fair 2025 linking academe with career opportunities

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP), through its Career Center, successfully hosted the USTP Job Fair 2025 on June 6, 2025, at the Dr. Ricardo E. Rotoras (DRER) Memorial Hall, USTP Cagayan de Oro. The event brought together partner industries and private institutions, with 39 local industry partners and seven invited agencies, providing employment opportunities for a diverse range of job seekers. Participants included graduating students, USTP alumni, and members of the general public, who explored career prospects and engaged with potential employers.

The USTP Job Fair is held annually to reaffirm the university’s strong vision and its commitment to linking academia with industry by showcasing job vacancies across its industry partners, providing the USTP Trailblazers with a progressive future to elevate their lives and career goals. Various industries, including education, customer services, engineering, automation, administration, and innovation, joined this year’s annual job fair at USTP.

Leadership and Inclusive Progress

Engr. Erich P. Abad, USTP CDO Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Services (VCSAS), formally delivered his welcome address to the applicants and all the participating industries and agencies. He emphasized that this event marks a significant transition from the classroom into the real world of work, which is a testament to the university’s strong vision.

Dr. Maria Cecilia L. Pangan, USTP System Vice President for Student Affairs and Services (VPSAS), delivered a message of inspiration to job seekers, congratulating the students as they embark on their journey into the real world of work.

You have what it takes to thrive and dare to believe in yourself,” she further emphasized.

Ms. Kathleen Kate D. Soria, PESO Manager of CDO LGU, shared her insights on the importance of job fairs and encouraged the industry to secure jobs for applicants and provide them with the right opportunities, especially for graduating students who have no job experience yet.

Mr. Emmanuel G. Toledo, Provincial Director of DOLE Region X CDO Field Office, delivered his message, emphasizing the importance of working together, uplifting the community, and enhancing the lives of Filipinos by offering job opportunities.

Moreover, Dr. Ambrosio B. Cultura II, University System President, delivered his message by extending gratitude to the industry partners and participating agencies that have full trust in the capabilities of USTP graduates. He further emphasized that “It reflects our commitment to furthering our strong vision in bridging progress; this is not just a job hiring, but harmonizing industries to build a resilient and sustainable future for all, wherein knowledge meets opportunity and talent knows no boundaries.”

Furthermore, Dr. Cultura emphasized that this has been a unified effort between USTP and the industry, thus, encouraging the Trailblazers to uphold the USTP Values of resilience and social responsiveness to real-world challenges.
