USTP holds Memorial Service for Engr. Ellezer Casiño and Mr. Mark Anthony Moran

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) honors the passing of the members of the faculty, Engr. Ellezer G. Casiño and Mr. Mark Anthony S. Moran through a memorial service on January 12, 2021.

Memorial service attended by family, friends and colleagues of Engr. Casiño and Mr. Moran.

Tributes and messages of sympathy were given by the heads of the university at the Dr. Ricardo E. Rotoras Memorial Hall where colleagues, friends and families gathered following strict health protocols. Mass was offered in honor of the departed.

Dr. Ruvel J. Cuasito, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of USTP CDO, shares his sympathy to the bereaved families

Dr. Ruvel J. Cuasito, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of USTP Cagayan de Oro, recalled the dedication of Engr. Casiño and Mr. Moran to teaching and their impact to the lives of the students and the people around them. “They are serving not men, but they are serving as if they are serving the Lord,” said Dr. Cuasito.

In a recorded video, Dr. Maria Elena L. Paulma, Vice President for Academic Affairs of the USTP System, signified the University’s appreciation and gratitude for the lives of Engr. Casiño and Mr Moran.

“We remember with gratitude their gifts of self and service to our students, to the USTP community and their families,” Dr. Paulma added.

The college deans, colleagues and students also gave their tributes and shared fond memories.

Engr. Casiño is remembered as a loving person, a good husband and father, well-loved in the College of Technology while Mr. Moran is remembered as a good friend and a source of inspiration for colleagues and students alike for his brilliance in teaching Mathematics.

The bereaved families thanked the USTP community for the support and sympathy.

 

Engr. Casiño and Mr. Moran passed away at the start of the year 2021.
