USTP honors outstanding alumni at Bantugan Awards 2025

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP), through the USTP Alumni Association, held the BANTUGAN AWARDS 2025: The Search for USTP Outstanding Alumni on December 20, 2025, at the Dr. Rotoras E. Rotoras (DRER) Memorial Hall, USTP Cagayan de Oro. The event honored and celebrated the remarkable achievements of distinguished USTP alumni who have made significant contributions in their respective fields. These awardees have not only excelled professionally but have also demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and commitment to service in their communities.

USTP System President Dr. Ambrosio B. Cultura II delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing that the Bantugan Awards celebrate not only achievements but also the journeys and stories that began at USTP and continue to inspire present and future generations.

The Bantugan Awards featured a panel of distinguished judges who evaluated the nominees based on merit, impact, and excellence. The panel was composed of: Mr. Romeo M. De Asis, Dr. Jocelyn B. Barbosa, Mr. Timothy Glenn J. Palacio, and Mr. Gerum O. Salatan.

USTP Alumni President Mr. Ruel M. Baron delivered the closing remarks, underscoring that the Bantugan Awards serve as a reminder of what is possible when excellence is paired with purpose.

The Bantugan Awards 2025 reaffirmed USTP’s commitment to quality education by recognizing alumni who exemplify leadership, innovation, and service — values that continue to define the university and its graduates across diverse fields.
