USTP Jasaan shines as faculty member wins 1st place for emerging tech research at RCITE 2025

Nevel Taurine C. Auxilio, a faculty member of the Information Technology Department of the University of Science and Technology of the Southern Philippines in Jasaan, Misamis Oriental (USTP Jasaan), secured first place in Track 2 of the Regional Conference on Information Technology Education (RCITE) 2025. This event took place on November 20–21, 2025, at Misamis University in Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental.
Auxilio distinguished herself in the Emerging Technologies track with her research titled “The Implementation of an Anti-Car-Napping Device Using a Facial Recognition System.” Her study introduces a vehicle security system that employs facial recognition to verify authorized drivers before allowing the engine to start.
This achievement underscores USTP Jasaan’s commitment to excellence in information technology research and its active participation in regional academic conferences.
