The two-day training was designed to equip future engineers and industry professionals with essential knowledge and skills in workplace safety and health management. It covered a total of 10 hours, comprising eight hours of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) orientation and two hours of Training of Trainers — pursuant to DOLE Department Order 252 and Administrative Order No. 313 series of 2019.

Among the participants were 68 fourth-year students from the Bachelor of Science in Energy Systems and Management (BSESM) program and one student from the Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering Technology (BSMET) program.

The training aimed to raise awareness about occupational risks, safety regulations, and preventive measures aligned with the standards of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). It also emphasized the importance of integrating safety culture into engineering practices and workplace operations.

USTP continues to help its students become ready for work by giving them chances to earn technical certificates and learn new skills. Through training like this, students gain both knowledge and practical abilities to ensure safety and sustainability in the workplace.
