USTP Jasaan swimmers make a strong splash at MASTS games 2025

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Jasaan, Misamis Oriental (USTP Jasaan) proudly competed under the USTP Cagayan de Oro banner at the MASTS Games 2025, which took place in Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental, from October 26 to 31, 2025. Showing grit and competitive spirit, the team delivered solid performances that brought pride to the USTP community.

Anthony Llanos spearheaded the team’s performance, securing 4th place in the 50-meter butterfly, 7th place in the 50-meter freestyle, 9th place in the 200-meter freestyle, and 6th overall in the 100-meter butterfly. His consistency and strength in the pool kept USTP Jasaan in strong contention across multiple events.

Mark Arancana also delivered commendable results, finishing 14th in the 200-meter freestyle, 11th in the 100-meter backstroke, 13th in both the 100-meter freestyle and 50-meter backstroke, and 23rd in the 50-meter freestyle. His versatility across stroke categories showcased his determination and competitive edge.

The participation and results of the swimmers highlight the emerging strength of USTP Jasaan’s athletics program and reinforce the collaborative spirit within the USTP sports community. The athletes demonstrated professionalism and sportsmanship, indicating a potential for stronger finishes in future tournaments.
