USTP Jasaan triumphs as 18th place in 2025 MASTS folkdance

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Jasaan, Misamis Oriental (USTP Jasaan) brought pride in securing the 18th place out of 21 participating State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the Folkdance Competition at the Mindanao Association of State Tertiary Schools (MASTS) Games 2025 held on October 28, 2025, in Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental.
Representing USTP Jasaan in the Folkdance Competition were the talented dancers: Micah Jamee Cabrera, Mikha Ella Shane Saturnino, Shaina Eleccion, Trisha Saturnino, Ammber Ramas, Britney Tabamo, Desiree Poliño, Fiona Eve C. Boybanting, Alvin Toni Mark Emanel, Christopher Genterone, James Benedict Dulas, John Lloyd Tabunan, Joshua Clent Factura, Ryan John Marte Rayos, Shojie P. Naive, and Samdrie James Antigua.
The competition featured 21 SUCs from across Mindanao, each presenting creative and culturally rich performances that celebrated Filipino heritage. USTP Jasaan’s dancers captivated the audience with their graceful movements, vibrant costumes, and synchronized choreography inspired by local traditions.
Despite facing tough competition, the team’s dedication and artistry stood out, a testament to their commitment to uphold the cultural pride of USTP and represent the university system with honor and unity.
This victory marks the first time that the USTP Jasaan contingent performed under the banner of USTP CDO, highlighting a strong collaboration within the USTP system and the shared goal of showcasing excellence beyond academics.
