Faculty representatives from the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Oroquieta, Misamis Occidental (USTP Oroquieta) actively participated in the Shared Service Facilities (SSF) Program Orientation, Proposal Writeshop, and Stakeholders’ Engagement Forum organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Misamis Occidental held on March 5–6, 2026 at Bethany Gardens, Ozamiz City. The two-day event served as a platform for participants to enhance their proposal development skills and explore opportunities for innovation through the Shared Service Facilities (SSF) Program.

Representing USTP Oroquieta were faculty members Mr. Conmar Malmis and Ms. Ma. Liberty Doncillo, who joined fellow representatives from the academe, entrepreneurs, and local government units to strengthen collaborative strategies for regional economic development. A highlight of the forum was the successful presentation and pitching of USTP Oroquieta’s proposed Meat and Seafood Processing Facility and the Nutrigo Pinoy Breakfast Bar, an innovative product concept aimed at promoting accessible and nutritious food options. The proposal reflects the campus’s commitment to advancing food technology, value-added processing, and sustainable product development that can benefit local communities and industries.

The event also fostered dialogue and partnerships among stakeholders, paving the way for potential collaborations that support local enterprise development. Through the initiative, USTP Oroquieta aims to contribute to strengthening the region’s food processing sector while empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises.

The campus expressed enthusiasm in working closely with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Misamis Occidental and various local stakeholders to bring the proposed shared service facilities into reality, reinforcing the university’s role in innovation, research, and community development.
