USTP Oroquieta hosts budget forum for FY 2026-2027

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Oroquieta, Misamis Occidental (USTP Oroquieta) successfully held the USTP-DBM Region X Budget Forum 2026 on February 23-24, 2026 at the Library Hall, USTP Oroquieta. The two-day forum was organized as a proactive initiative of the university to strengthen budget preparation, ensure fiscal discipline, and align institutional priorities for Fiscal Year 2027 with national development goals.

The activity gathered key officials across the USTP System, led by the USTP System President, Dr. Ambrosio B. Cultura II, campus directors, planning and budget officers, and administrative personnel. Also present was the Department of Budget and Management Region X Regional Director, Mr. Nonito H. Dela Cruz and his technical team, who provided policy updates, compliance guidelines, and strategic directions on government budgeting. The gathering reinforced strong collaboration between the university and DBM Regio X in promoting accountable and transparent use of public funds.

In his address, the University System President Dr. Cultura emphasized innovation, digital transformation, infrastructure expansion, and strengthened research and extension services as key priorities for the USTP System. A series of technical sessions and open forums followed, where participants engaged in meaningful discussions, clarified guidelines, and addressed concerns to refine campus budget proposals. The dynamic exchange of ideas highlighted the university’s proactive approach to participatory planning and results-based management.

This initiative underscores the university’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and results-based management, ensuring that public resources are strategically allocated to enhance instruction, research, community extension, and student services.
