The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Oroquieta, Misamis Occidental (USTP Oroquieta) participated in the grand Civic-Military Parade on January 9, 2026, held along the main streets of Oroquieta City in celebration of the city’s 56th Charter Anniversary and its 96th year as the cabecera, or capital, of Misamis Occidental.
Together with local government officials, security forces, and various civic organizations, the USTP Oroquieta community—comprising administrators, faculty, staff, and students—demonstrated solidarity with the local government’s ASENSO vision. The collective participation paid tribute to the city’s historical milestones, officially commemorated on January 6.
USTP Oroquieta’s involvement in the civic-military parade further underscored the campus’s commitment to nation-building and sustainable development. Through active engagement in community-led initiatives that promote peace, strong institutions, inclusive partnerships, and responsible citizenship, the campus reinforced its role as a socially responsive academic institution. This participation reflects USTP’s dedication to strengthening collaboration among education, government, and civil society in support of local development.
